Getting to Chamonix is easy and transport options abound. There are plenty of flights daily to and from Geneva airport (just over an hour away from Chamonix by car), fast motorway connections and a TGV link from Paris at weekends.
Of these options, trains are by far the most eco-friendly way to travel. If you are flying please offset your carbon footprint and pack light.

Chamonix is well served by airports, the nearest of which is Geneva (85km) with plenty of flights daily.

Chambery 135km – 2 hours
Lyon 220km – 3 hours
Grenoble 220 km – 3 hours
Airport Transfers to Chamonix
There are frequent shuttle services form Geneva, Chambery and Grenoble as well as taxis. It’s also possible to get a helicopter transfer from Geneva. Many companies offer reliable airport transfers between Geneva airport and Chamonix by bus or 7-seater taxi for individuals sharing or groups with online booking facilities.

Getting to Chamonix by rail
There is a TGV from Paris from Friday through the weekend to Chamonix Mont Blanc. You have to change at Annecy if you travel on other days. The alternative station is Sallanches.

Chamonix is easy to drive to:
Geneva – 85km – 1 hour 15 minutes
Calais – 896km – 8 hours
Paris – 600km – 6 hours
Lille – 826 km – 7 hours 30 minutes
Milan – 240km – 3 hours (via the Mont Blanc tunnel)
