On our Japan retreat we will be meeting in Tokyo, at the Park Hotel Tokyo, and travelling together, the next day, to the retreat centre in the Kiso Valley. The info below tells you how to get to the Park Hotel Tokyo.

BY TAXI
We recommend taking the train from the airport but if you would prefer not to walk the 7 minutes from Shimbashi Station to the Hotel we suggest taking the taxi from either Tokyo Station (if you’re travelling from Narita Airport) or Hamamatsucho Station (if you’re travelling from Haneda Airport) and getting a taxi from there to Park Hotel Tokyo.
Taxi from Tokyo Station: Fare: 1500 JPY. Travel time: 10 minutes
Taxi from Hamamatsucho Station: Fare: 730 JPY. Travel time: 3 minutes
GETTING AROUND TOKYO
- Subways and trains are the best way to get around Tokyo.
- If you are planning on arriving early and exploring the city; a prepaid ‘Suica’ or ‘Pasmo’ card is easily the best way to pay for transport.
- You can buy a Suica card online at Voyagin.com for pickup at the airport (but this isn’t necessary if you are not planning to explore the city before our meet and greet).
- Taxis are excellent but rather expensive.
- Buses aren’t recommended for short-term visitors.
