Experience an adventurous surf and yoga retreat in the beautiful, unspoilt western Algarve. Our surf and yoga lodge is located between Lagos and Sagres in the pretty village of Praia da Luz, close to the best surf beaches and the most picturesque coastline in Europe. With over 300 days of sunshine a year this is the perfect place for an autumn retreat in the sun. Situated on the edge of the protected Vicente National Park and within walking distance from beautiful beaches makes this spot ideal for the many activities and stunning vistas the Algarve is famous for.
If you love the idea of a yoga retreat in Portugal but surfing isn’t your thing, we have a number of alternative activities to choose from: PADI certified scuba diving course, SUP – (stand up paddle-boarding) and kayaking. These guided activities are for 3 days during your retreat and are an alternative to surfing. Each morning you will be guided through a nourishing Vinyasa flow practice, lead by our experienced and lovely teacher for this retreat; Susie Murray, to open the body and inspire the mind. In the evening you will enjoy a combination of restorative yin practices, ocean meditation under the stars and guided yoga nidra, meditation in rest, practices.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Susie Murray started practicing yoga in her late teens following an injury incurred through her dance training. The freedom and ease that she found while dancing was reawakened when she discovered yoga. She has studied and attended an eclectic array of workshops and trainings with internationally acclaimed instructors offering her the opportunity to deepen her studies in Hatha, Yin, Ashtanga, Yoga Nidra and meditation but due to her background in dance her style is deeply rooted in Vinyasa. This is reflected in her teaching which lends to the smooth choreography of her classes.
Alignment and balanced energy flow are consistent points of focus in all of Susie’s classes. Susie will cue and guide you through the practice using the breath to create and deepen an experience of fluid yoga transitions. She truly believes your breath is the key to connecting to the wholeness of who you truly are and letting go of what might be holding you back. This improves strength, conditioning and flexibility in the body.
